All Play and No Work

This is some of what Ryan does to entertain himself while I am getting ready for work in the mornings. He's a perfect fit!

Happy Halloween

This year for Halloween we decided to dress Ryan up. Last year he was still pretty little. We went with a Skeleton theme. Ryan looked too cute. Sean and I also dressed for the theme, but much more toned down. I just wore a t-shirt with a skull and cross bones and Sean had on a Goonies logo shirt. We forgot to get a photo with all of us in it, but you get the idea. We started off at Sean's parents house to visit and have dinner and then caught up with my brother and his family for some trick or treating.

Aren't they all so cute?

Ryan is still too little to really understand the concept of strangers giving him things. But after a while he got used to the rhythm of things...and then he started trying to go into everyone's homes.

Pumpkin Time

We headed out to the Banducci Pumpkin Patch again this year. It was a lot of fun. Ryan had a blast playing with all of the pumpkins. We even did the corn maze!

Ryan's 1st Birthday!

We had family and close friends over to celebrate Ryan's first birthday. It turned out just perfect. I cannot believe it has been a year since he was born. He was so tiny at first but now he's growing up into such a handsome little boy. He will always be my little baby though.

The cake I made. I'm quite proud of it.
He was in such a happy mood.

Totally posing for the camera's.

He was very interested in the texture and feel of the frosting. It's not everyday he gets to play with his food.

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate, and for the wonderful gifts you brought.

Disneyland!

We were invited to go to Disneyland by my brother and his family and since Sean and I were on vacation we decided to go. It turned out to be pretty fun even though it was hot. My brother and his family go all the time and they really know their way around, that helped out a lot. We didn't get to go on too many rides, having to work around Ryan's schedule, but we did hit most of the good ones. Indiana Jones is still my favorite =).

Ryan and me in front of Snow Whites wishing well.

Zoo Day

We took a trip to the Fresno Chaffe Zoo on Monday. It was a great day. The weather was good, hot, but most of the zoo is shaded. And there were maybe 20 other people there besides us. It's the perfect sized zoo for a one year old.

We went to the Winged Wonder Show and I volunteered to go up to see the demonstration on how quietly owls fly. They put the landing post directly behind me so the owl would fly right over my head. It was very cool.

That's where he landed, and I was sitting on the tree stump with the little green pillow on it.

Ryan's 1st Beach Day

This was the first trip to the beach for Ryan. We had taken him to Morro Bay a few months ago, but this was the first time on the actual sand and in the water. He loved it! I thought that the water might be a little too cold for him, but as soon as he touched it with his toes he wanted to be down in it. And the sand, oh the sand. He couldn't get enough.rabbing the sand, playing in the sand, eating the sand...

Reese's Cake

Here is the cake (finally) that I did for my niece Reese for her 9th birthday. Jennifer and Reese helped make the fondant and color it, which was a huge help. It's just a simple design based on the iCarly tv show.

Delicious D&D

I haven't had a chance to make many cakes lately, so when my sister in law asked me to make a cake for my brothers 40th birthday party I said of course. Every week for the past few months Sean and I have been going to their place to play Dungeons and Dragons. I have always wanted to play but never really had the chance until Jeff and Jennifer gave us the invite. It is so much fun. And as a bonus I get to spend time with my family. Well when Jennifer and I were trying to come up with an idea for the cake we knew it was going to be D & D themed. The cake is based off of the adventure book that we are actually playing right now, the Pyramid of Shadows. I ended up adding the braiding all around just because it needed a boarder. I am quite pleased with how it turned out, especially the emblem.

This week I get to work on my niece Reese's cake for her birthday this weekend. Stay tuned for another cake post =).

Island Water Park

Last weekend we went to Paramount's annual company picnic at the water park. We hadn't been in a few years but knew we wanted to go this year with Ryan. Ty and Michelle and Jon and Jo were there with their families, and my brother and his family were able to come along as well.

Ready for fun in the sun.

The water was on the cold side, but they both still enjoyed it.

Jon, Jo and Nathan warming up after being in the water.
My niece Katrina "prancing" about. So cute!
It was a long day. We are glad that we went and can't wait until next year.
