Delicious D&D
I haven't had a chance to make many cakes lately, so when my sister in law asked me to make a cake for my brothers 40th birthday party I said of course. Every week for the past few months Sean and I have been going to their place to play Dungeons and Dragons. I have always wanted to play but never really had the chance until Jeff and Jennifer gave us the invite. It is so much fun. And as a bonus I get to spend time with my family. Well when Jennifer and I were trying to come up with an idea for the cake we knew it was going to be D & D themed. The cake is based off of the adventure book that we are actually playing right now, the Pyramid of Shadows. I ended up adding the braiding all around just because it needed a boarder. I am quite pleased with how it turned out, especially the emblem.

Island Water Park
Last weekend we went to Paramount's annual company picnic at the water park. We hadn't been in a few years but knew we wanted to go this year with Ryan. Ty and Michelle and Jon and Jo were there with their families, and my brother and his family were able to come along as well.
Ready for fun in the sun.
The water was on the cold side, but they both still enjoyed it.

Update.
It has been a while since I have posted anything, so here is a little update. Ryan is getting bigger and bigger by the minute, he'll be 9 months old in a few days. He has recently become mobile, not crawling, more like army crawling. And he loves, loves, loves to walk around with help. He currently has a little cold, an ear infection and he's teething. A triple threat! But he is a little trooper. For the most part he is a happy boy, although he does have his moments.
Here are some recent photos.

"I'm ready!"
I love this one. So innocent.

6 Months
I can't believe Ryan is already 6 months old. It seems like just yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital. He is getting so big. He just had his 6 month check up on Monday and is doing just fine. He had to have 4 shots this time, 3 regular immunizations and 1 flu shot. And he took them like a champ.

These first 3 were taken today.
Teaching him to sit up. He can only do it for a few seconds.
These other 2 were taken a few weeks ago.
Pants on the head!

Christmas Day
After feeding Ryan early Christmas morning, it was around 4:30am, we decided to get Sean up and open our family presents.
After we were finished we went back to bed and woke up a few hours later to get ready for the family brunch we were hosting. It turned out great. My mom and dad came over a little early to help me out. Breakfast consisted of french toast, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and bacon, it was all very good.

Growing, Growing, Growing.
Ryan has been getting big and growing so much. He's been finding his voice lately and "talking" a lot. He rolled over for the first time about a week ago but he still needs practice to get better.

Blue eyes!
Here's Ryan in his early Christmas present from Sean. He's a little small for it now but it looks like it will be a lot of fun when he's bigger.
And here he is "talking".

Pumpkins & Jack O Lanterns
We finally got around to carving our pumpkins last night.

Sean came up with his own pattern, it came out really good.
All done carving. Sean's and the two I did, the little one for Ryan.
All of our "punkins"
