Beach

So these are our pictures that I took while we were at the Beach with Ty, Michelle, J, and the boys. We had a really fun time. Everyone got to play in the water and I chose to just relax in the beach chairs. While we were there we were able to see some dolphins swim by, twice! They were really close to the shore and I think they scared J for a second, he was in the water waiting for a wave right next to them. Unfortunately I was unable to pull my camera out in time to get a shot of them, but it was very cool to see them.

New Couch

We were finally able to sell our old couches and get a new one. After waiting around for what seemed like an eternity, it finally arrived!

Birthday Cake.

I made this cake for my niece Reese for her birthday, she turned 8 this year. It's a chocolate cake with peanut butter cream filling. It was so delicious, everyone loved it.

Baby Bump.

Here we are, me and my boy at 20 weeks =). So far the pregnancy has been pretty easy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed hoping that labor will follow suit.

Anniversary weekend - Sunday

On Sunday we went to breakfast and then headed over to the Queen Mary. We purchased the First Class tickets which meant we got a a self guided tour, a behind the scenes tour, a self guided tour of the Scorpion Submarine, and tickets for the Ghosts and Legends of the Queen Mary. It was really interesting. There was so much to see, and again so much walking. I didn't think the Queen Mary would take that long, but we ended up staying there all day.

Scorpion

In the disclaimer for the Scorpion it advises pregnant women not to tour the sub and after getting inside it I can totally see why. To get from room to room you had to go through these tiny tubes. If I were any further along I would have had to leave.

Anniversary weekend - Saturday

For our first anniversary we decided to head over to Long Beach. Neither one of us had been there before, so we packed our bags and off we went. Our first stop after checking in was the Aquarium of the Pacific.

We stayed at the Hyatt. It was very nice, and conveniently located within walking distance to lots of sights.

There were lots of different kinds of jelly fish at the aquarium. These are ghost jelly fish, I think.

Leafy Sea Dragon

Extra Leafy Sea Dragon! I think it's actually named something else, I just can't remember =)

After the aquarium we stopped across the street for lunch at one of our favorite places to eat, Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. Yum!

After having lunch we went back to the room to rest a little. There was a boardwalk type of shopping center across the street and also a lighthouse that we walked around. It was so pretty. We found out that Long Beach is a popular wedding spot, I think we counted at least 8 weddings on Saturday and 1 or 2 on Sunday. Needless to say I was pooped by the night's end, and my feet were killing me. We must have walked at least 10 miles.

Here is another cake that I did for my co-worker. This one was much easier than the leopard print cake.

Cake

This was a cake I did for my co-workers daughters baby shower. I am pretty proud of this one, it came out nicely. White cake with strawberry cream filling, it was yummy!

The Zoo!

I saw that the Fresno Chaffee Zoo was holding a photography contest so Ty, Michelle, Ian, Luke, Sean and I decided to go. It was really fun, and I think I was able to get some shots that I will enter.

These are the ones that I am considering entering into the contest.

Cake, hardest yet.

This is a cake that I was hired to make for one of my co-workers. It is, by far, the hardest cake I have had to do. She wanted a leopard print fondant cake and asked me if I could do it.

The first photo shows one of the steps for getting the spots. You have to roll out your base color some, then add small dots of black fondant, and then add smaller dots of brown fondant on top of the black. Then just roll it all out.

This is the finished product. I realize there are a few bumpy sections, but you really only get one shot at applying the fondant, and for the time and energy I've put into this cake I think it came out pretty well.
The little figurine was purchased by my co-worker.
